The brooch has a triangular cross section, with a straight outer edge, and the upper surface being angled downwards towards the centre. This upper surface originally had cast decoration, but it is now extremely worn making the design unclear. There is a small amount of gilt surviving on the surface. The brooch is red-brown in colour. It has an external diameter of 28.22mm, an internal diameter of 19.88mm, is 3.60mm thick and weighs 6.31 grams.

Copper alloy annular Medieval brooch. It is complete with the pin and frame. The frame is plain and is circular in cross-section. The pin is slightly unusual as it has a central circular boss with a light blue stone set into it. The pin is hooked around the frame and tapers towards the end. The boss appears to have been cast integrally to the pin, except for the reverse which may have been added later. The boss could be stone or glass it was not possible to ascertain at the time. The brooch has an uneven brown/green patina due to corrosion. Some of the original surface has been lost.
