A copper-alloy Langton Down type Roman bow brooch, the wings and the upper part of the bow survive and the rest of the brooch and the pin is missing, Langton Down brooches occur in Pre-conquest contexts but also in contexts dated post AD 43. The wings are a cylindrical spring cover with transverse grooves across their terminal and one horizontal groove across the centre. The bow fragment is flat backed and has longitudinal reeded decoration. Similar to Hacheston example (PLouviez 2004, 91,-92, no 34). It measures 21.21mm in length and 19.67mm in width.

A copper-alloy late Iron Age to early Roman bow brooch of Langton Down type. It is incomplete as the lower bow and foot and pin are missing. The spring cover is cylindrical and bow flat backed with three transverse grooves where it joins the spring cover and five longitudinal grooves running down its length. This brooch measures 20.11mm in surviving length and 14.90mm in width.

An incomplete, copper-alloy Late Iron Age to Roman Colchester brooch dating to c.25-60AD. The short wings are flat and the bow is circular in section and tapers to a point at the foot. The catchplate has three rectangular perforations. Only one turn brooch of the spring survives, but when complete it is likely to have had six or eight turns. The pin is missing, but the forward-facing hook which would have held the spring's external chord is intact. A similar example can be seen in Hattatt's Visual Catalogue (2000; 297, fig.156, no.1455).
