Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, cast copper alloy. The brooch has a square headplate split into three smaller rectangular zones. The central rectangular zone is the largest and sits slightly proud of the flaking zones, being decorated with a perimeter of punched crescents. Two integral side knops remain. Each knop has a moulded collar divided into three bands, and a flat circular knopped terminal. The rest of the brooch is missing at the top of the bow. There is an incomplete double pin lug on the reverse of the headplate.

The head plate is rectangular in shape with two semi-circular cut outs in each corner giving it a cruciform appearance. It is decorated with a marginal pattern of stamped semi-circles and dots. On the underside of the head plate is a semi-circular lug with circular perforation. Iron corrosion products surround the lug. The fragment measures 22mm in length and 26mm in width. Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, lower bow and part of the flat panel from a early Anglo-Saxon brooch. There is a longitudinal decorative band running down the centre of the bow and below the bow transverse grooves delimit the start of the flat panel. Surviving length is 17.94mm and width is 17.38mm. All edges worn and damaged due to old breaks. Both faces are black probably due to exposure to fire, perhaps indicating that this brooch was originally from a cremation cemetary.

A lead alloy probable brooch fragment which is probably from the mid Early Medieval period. The fragment is a sub rectangular flat plate with one end rounded, and the other end broken with the majority of the brooch missing. A worn and incomplete cast copper alloy Early Medieval Anglo Saxon Cruciform brooch. The trapezoidal head plate has an incomplete wing on the left and the right one is missing. At the top of the head plate is an integral knob, which is flattened in section and domed in outline. The arched bow is carninated at the front and concave behind and the corners are faceted. The brooch is truncated at the base of the bow and the foot is missing. Behind the head plate is an incomplete single hinge. A fragment of a cast copper alloy and gilded object, probably part of a miniature square-headed brooch of Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date (c. AD 500 – c. AD 600). Length: 8.6mm; width: 7.5mm and 1.9mm thick. Weight: 0.49g. This is probably the lower part of the foot of a miniature square-headed brooch. At the front moulded decoration is in the form of a raised central sub-square shape enclosed by a raised square frame. The rear face is flat and pitted due to corrosion. A cast lead Late Saxon brooch. The brooch is circular and flat. It has been decorated on the front with a ladder-style border. Inside this are three crescents, each decorated with the ladder-style border. There is a raised crescent inside each one. There is a Y-shaped field between the crescents. There is a central, large pellet and a row of smaller pellets in each arm of the 'Y'. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The remains of the lug and catchplate can be seen and these have been arranged longitudinally. Both parts are badly squashed and damaged. No pin survives.

The object is sub rectangular, but appears to have originally been triangular in form as it has damage to both sides. It has traces of a border of punched triangles and its upper edge is the lower part of a shaft with raised horizontal bands. The reverse contains the remains of a catchplate 12mm long and 2mm thick. The object is most probably an example of a small- long brooch, similar to eg.668, fig.235 in Hattatts ancient brooches.

The brooch has an angled bow-shaped profile, with a fan-shaped protrusion at either end. There is moulded decoration encirculing the bow at its roundest point. The reverse of the brooch is convex and there are the remains of the catch plate at one end. Similar examples can be seen in Hattatt (2000) p380. The brooch is 41.4mm long, 9.3mm wide, 4.3mm thick and weighs 9.9g.
