A fragment of a middle Anglo-Saxon ansate brooch with possible zoomorphic decoration. A fragment of bow and one terminal survive; the terminal tapers towards the rounded end, which has two ring-and-dot motifs resembling the eyes of a snake's head. Two transverse grooves and a ridge separate the terminal from the bow. Only very little survives of the catchplate on the reverse of the terminal, which is longitudinal and set to one side. The fragment measures 22mm long, 9.6mm wide and 8mm thick. The weight is 1.8g.
Ansate brooches are known from 7th-century France but do not appear …

An incomplete copper-alloy ansate brooch of Weetch's type IV, middle to late Anglo-Saxon in date. The terminals are flat and rectangular and one is incomplete, the complete terminal has a single pin loop which appears to have been riveted through the terminal. The bow is curving and rectangular in shape with its longitudinal edges bent at right angles to it. This brooch measures 38.49mm in length and 18.03mm in width across the terminal and 10.43mm in width across the bow.

Cast copper alloy early medieval brooch. This bow brooch is of an unusual type. It has an oval headplate with two lugs on the reverse, between which survives the corroded remains of the iron spring and pin bar. The bow has a curved cross-section, but a rectangular cross-section at the junctions with the head and foot-plates. The centre of the bow has a flattened circular section on its front, giving a disc-on-bow appearance. The foot-plate is straight, but terminates in a circular knop. early Medieval copper alloy and gold brooch fragment, 36mm long, 20mm wide and 10mm thick. The brooch is in poor condition with a powdery green patina and weighs 16.82grams. The object consists of a curved bow which has a raised rectangular protrusion in its centre which is picked out in gold. part of the head plate survives and is decorated with incisions picked out in gold. behind this is a two semi-circular copper alloy lugs which hold the remains of an iron pin.

a copper alloy bow from an Anglo-Saxon long brooch. It has uneven surfaces probably due to having been part of a cremation. It is a rectangular lump with the remains of two rounded terminals on the corners of one edge, and is curved and hollow on the under side. It measures 22.95mm in length, 17.88mm in width, and weighs 10.47g.
Other fragments have been found associated with Anglo-Saxon long brooches and other artefacts suggesting a cemetery site in this area, for example YAX SF-3CEB56.

a copper alloy fragment from an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, distorted due to heat probably as the result of cremation. It is the foot of the brooch only, with a horse head terminal and the rest of the brooch missing. The terminal is spatulate below the nostrils. The brooch fragment measures 29.77mm in length and is 8.95mm wide at the lower terminal. It weighs 3.18g.
Other fragments have been found associated with Anglo-Saxon long brooches and other artefacts suggesting a cemetery site in this area, for example YAX SF-3CEB56.

part of a copper alloy Anglo-Saxon long brooch. The surfaces are corroded and irregular,possibly due to heat, and the object is incomplete. It is a narrow rectangular strip, with a curve in the centre, 49.31mm in length and about 5.5mm wide, weighing 2.38g. The head of the brooch is incomplete due to old breaks , and the foot terminal is also incomplete, but with a suggestion of a perforation at the base. There are bands of transverse moulding all along the brooch from foot to head, mostly in repeated bands of four grooves .

Cast copper alloy early Anglo-Saxon bow brooch, possibly a small long brooch. The brooch has a sub-rectangular head-plate with incised circle-and-dot design on the front. Projecting knops from the sides and top edge. There is a single perforated lug on the reverse with remains of an iron spring and pin. Plain, narrowed arched bow, which is broken just above the junction with the foot-plate.

a copper alloy fragment probably from an Anglo-Saxon long brooch. It is square, with broken corners and distorted probably as a result of heat. The upper surface is decorated with a plain central zone, outlined by a single band forming on oval shape. Around this is a zone of wavy lines contained by a futher single band close to the edge of the fragment. The under side is plain. The fragment measures 10.76mm in length and is 9.53mm wide. It weighs 4.69g. It could be the central panel from the head of a cruciform or square-headed brooch.

Late early-medieval convex disc brooch with a double pin lug and a stub of the catchplate on the reverse. The front is decorated in relief with typical Jellinge-style animal ornament, cf. Margeson (1997) fig. 29. Much of the detail is obscured by adherent chalky deposits and areas not so covered are worn. There are patches of black material on the reverse. Diameter 25mm. Fragment of Early-medieval copper-alloy cruciform brooch.
The object consists of the middle section of the brooch complete with lappets and the bow. The reverse of the central section has the pin lug complete but without the pin.
Decoration on the brooch consists of ring and dot decoration around the central rectangle and a median gully down the center of the bow.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Early Medieval Anglo Saxon annular brooch. The circular band is D-shaped in section and is formed with a series of plain sections alternating with zones of ribbing. The band has a constriction for pin; however, it is covered with iron corrosion as only a fraction of the iron pin survives. The diameter is 40.2mm, the thickness is 3.8mm, the width of the band is 4.8mm and the weight is 12.88g. It dates to the late 6th or early 7th century AD. Compare NLM-53F386, LIN-935CE8, etc.

A fragment of copper alloy early medieval Small Long Brooch.
The object consists of the head of the object with one complete and two damaged cruciform projections. On the reverse is the semi-circular pin attachment, but with no pin. The foot of the brooch is missing.
Decoration on the object consists of lines of small circles in a central square and on the outside of the projections.
The brooch fragment measures 22.48mm in length; 31.19mm in width and is 1.32mm thick and weighs 5.11g.

The object consists of the upper part of the brooch and has a small rectangular head plate with a single knop on its upper edge. The sides are missing but the head plate has traces of the bow emerging from its base. The reverse has a circular lug which is corroded with iron.
