Fragment of a cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch from the late 5th or 6th century AD. The fragment is a zoomorphic terminal from the foot of the brooch (pictured upside down). The object has expanded circular nostrils above the spatulate extension, which is decorated with a transverse groove above a row of stamp marks. The stamps appear to be annulets, but are largely obscured by soil. Each nostril has a central circular dot. Above the nostrils is the broken stub of the nose of the animal. The object has a dark green patina.
