Part of the headplate and bow of a cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon small square-headed brooch. The headplate has an inner rectangular section decorated with four rectangular 'blocks', all surrounded by a beaded border. The bow is framed by a raised beaded edge and has a relief midrib separating two raised zones. A single perforated lug on the reverse of the headplate acts as a hinge, and the corroded remains of the spring survive on this.
