Pottery rim sherd from a bowl with a 'Cornish flanged' (Quinnell, 2004, p.124) rim. The flange below the rim is rounded and made of an added strip which has been applied to the body of the bowl. The angle of the flange is at about 90 degrees from the rim of the bowl. Above the flange is a recessed groove which helps to define it from the rim. The fabric is is a light orangey brown colour throughout and contains mica, felspar and augite inclusions, which suggests that it is made from gabbroic clay, originating from the Lizard. The vessel sherd has a sub-triangular cross section at the join of the base and wall. The breaks are old and worn. The base measures 90.48mm by 60.4mm, with the base diameter estimated at approximately 94mm. It is 11.62mm thick across the base, and 11.15mm thick on the body wall. It weighs 70.29 grams.
