Lead pot mend with narrow waist where it would have passed through the hole in the pot. To one side of this it is a neat circle; the other side is much more irregular. Traces of reddish pot survive in the waisted centre, but not enough to date the pot-mend which could either be Roman, medieval or post-medieval.

The item is a cast lead cylinder with a flared capped terminal. On one side of the cylinder is a triangular shaped lug. The opposite side has a small protrusion suggesting something may have broken. There is a hole due to damage next to the lug. The opposite terminal is broken and has a portion of the edge being taller than the rest. It appears there is an interior cylinder surrounded by an exterior shell. The terminal cap has a hole in the base leading to the main chamber.
