A silver-plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a Roman silver denarius of Augustus dating to the period c. 19 BC to 16 BC (Reece Period 1). SIGNIS RECEPTIS reverse type depicting an aquila l. and a standard r. flanking S P Q R arranged around the clipeus virtutis inscribed CL V. Spanish mint of Colonia Patricia. RIC I (rev.ed.), p.47, no.86a. Measuring c.18mm in diameter and weighing 2.94g (45.4gn). The coin has die axis 7 and is distorted through being nail-punched from the obverse. It has some wear.
