An incomplete silver denarius of Trajan dating to the period AD 103 to 111 (Reece period 5). SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI reverse type depicting Pax standing left holding olive branch and cornucopiae, setting foot on Dacian. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC II, p. 257, no. 190a (but without aegis on obverse). It is not clear whether the damage to the coin is deliberate, although there do appear to be several score marks on both the obverse and reverse.

A silver Roman coin: a denarius of Elagabalus (218 – 222 AD), VICTORIA AVG, Mint of Rome. There is a young, clean-shaven, laureate bust facing right on the obverse, and Victory advancing left on the reverse. RIC Vol IV part II number 162.

Unusual Roman coin: this appears to be a copper alloy core for a plated contemporary copy of a silver denarius. The obverse inscription does not make sense with the portrait. It looks like Macrinus (217-8), although the inscription is not consistent with him.
