A plated forgery of a silver Denarius of Caracalla; PM TRP XVIII COS IIII PP (Pax) reverse type. The original coin (RIC no. 268) dates from AD 215 and was minted at Rome. This piece is a very good copy but a break in the surface reveals a copper-alloy core. It measures 20mm in diameter, 2mm thick and weighs 2.39g.
