A base-silver denarius, possibly a contemporary copy, of Caracalla as Caesatr (AD 196-8) (Reece Period 10, possibly [PIETAS], Pietas standing left at altar, holding box of incense. Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 1, p. 213, no. 12. It is quite possible that this is a regular coin, but its appearance suggest that it is quite base silver, suggesting it might be a copy. The PIETAS type is scarce and it is possible it is a copy of a coin with a reverse from another coin.
Diameter: 16.23 mm; Weight: 1.99g.
