A worn silver early 3rd-century denarius of Caracalla, 'PART MAX PONT TRP V' reverse, Rome mint (203-204 AD; Reece period 10). This coin is probably a contempoary copy the reverse is similar to RIC IV part I p. 222 no 63 although the obverse inscription does not fit and should read ANTONINVS PIVS AVG. The bust also looks similar to the portraits of Geta from the period, although it could plausibly pass as Caracalla.

RIC IV, pt 1, p. 225, no. 80bvar. The recorded type is only laureate and draped; this coin is laureate, draped and cuirassed right. However, there is slight cracking of the flan and some verdigris which might suggest that this is a plated copy.
