Copper alloy core of a silver plated copy of a coin, probably a 2nd - early 3rd century Roman denarius or possibly an Iron Age unit.
Only a small amount of the silver plating remains and the design is now mostly illegible but there appears to be a relatively neat bust on the obverse which would be appropriate for a denarius and if it was plated in thick silver the dimensions would be possible for a denarius or a silver unit.
