A wide gold finger ring which has a cast 'cut-out' design with inscribed detail. The design is framed by a strip border above and below decorated with vertical and oblique lines. The main part of the pattern consists of two erotic scenes or two depictions of the same event. A naked shaggy headed, bearded human-like male with a horse like tail crouches over the hind quarters of a donkey-like animal. The 'donkey' looks back at the 'man' who has his erect member pointing at the 'donkey's' rear it in one scene. In the other scene the man has entered the animal. This ring has been examin…

A complete but distorted lead alloy finger ring. The ring is small, possibly for a child or little finger, and has a raised circular bezel that contains a dark blue galss or paste. Either side of the bezel on the shoulders is two smaller circular mouldings that may have once also contained inserts. The band extends from beneath the latter and is plain and circular in section. The ring is similar in form to some Roman finger rings, however the size, material used and quality may suggests a much later date, possibly the post-medieval or even early-modern period.

Incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman finger ring. The bezel and shoulders of the ring remain. The bezel is circular and contains a circular recess in which the remains of the badly damaged setting still exist. The setting is red-yellow in colour and it seems quite likely that this is amber rather than degraded enamel. The shoulders of the ring have one incised groove running along either edge but are otherwise plain. Dated c.100-300 AD.
