Fragment of a copper alloy mount, a flat, straight, sub-rectangular sectioned bar broken at both ends, at one through an attachment hole, decorated on one face with an engraved herringbone pattern, the median groove being wider and deeper than the oblique grooves. Parts of the plain reverse are rough and unfinished. Length 28.5mm. Width 10mm. Thickness 2.5mm. Diameter of hole 3mm. The object's age is uncertain, though without doubt it is not recent. The herringbone motif was employed in several periods, perhaps most frequently in the Roman. Finder's no. 2, see annotated map in file.

Lead probable weight of uncertain date, round and plano-convex, with a central hole and a scalloped edge on which there are ten alternating vertical grooves and lobes. There is some resemblance to an Anglo-Saxon melon bead. Thickness 7mm. Diameter 12 - 13.5mm. Hole diameter 5.5 - 6mm. The weight, 5.33g / 82.2 grains, shows no correlation with a known weight system. The soft nature of the metal shows that this is certainly not recent.
