Roman or Early Medieval copper-alloy finger ring, possibly created as a reuse of an earlier object. The ring consists of a flat band of metal which has been bent round to form a ring. The two ends of the band do not meet, leaving a small gap in the circle of the ring. One end of the band of metal tapers and curves to a pointed terminal but the other end is rather crudely cut off square across the band. A cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date. The finger ring is plain with no bezel and a consistent width of hoop. It has a diameter of 21.2mm and weighs 1.45g. The hoop has a sub-circular cross-section with a diameter of 2mm and a slightly flattened interior. The exterior of the ring is decorated with four sections of closely-spaced incised transverse parallel lines, interspersed with four plain sections.

An incomplete cast copper alloy and enamelled finger ring of Roman date (c. AD 100 – c. AD 410). Approximate external diameter 18.0mm and 1.7mm thick. Weight 1.56g. The hoop is partially missing due to old breaks and at one side it is bent upwards and almost makes contact with the underside of the bezel. At this point the hoop has a width of only 1.1mm. The flat bezel is circular in plan and has a diameter of 12.0mm. Its upper surface has nine cells which would probably have been filled with enamel. The ring is formed of ten panels or facets, each having a letter engraved on it. It is in good condition with little wear, and the inscription reads VENIFVTVVE. The bezel is sub-rectangular in form with curved corners. The upper surface of the bezel is decorated with a design comprised of an elongated 'x' with three parallel lines crossing the 'x'.

A wide cast copper alloy finger ring, with a thin D-shaped section. The hoop of the ring has been decorated with three collars, with an incised groove between them. No other decoration can be seen. The internal hoop of the ring appears to have been filed. The copper alloy is a dark greyish-green colour. This ring probably dates to the Roman period. An exact parallel could not be found in the standard literature.

Roman copper alloy finger ring. The ring has tapering triangular shoulders and a narrowed D-sectioned band with considerable wear at the back. The bezel is rectangular and has a raised, circular, flat-topped projection in imitation of an intaglio. The projection is decorated with incised lines comprising three dots slightly offset from the centre with an oval frame around them and a circle radiating short lines towards the edge. Cast copper alloy finger ring Length 21mm, width 9mm, (loop width 3mm(, thickness 4mm, (loop thickness 1mm), weight 2.03g. Rectangular bezel that has a plain raised oval, flat-topped projection that imitates an intaglio. The shoulders are tapering triangles, the junction of the loop and the shoulders is expanded. The ring is heavily truncated resulting in the loss of about 60% of the loop. That object is in a fair condition retaining most of its original patina. These types of finger rings are more characteristic of the late Roman Period and dates to the 3rd-4th century.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman finger ring of Henig type VIII of 3rd century date. Part of the hoop is now missing and the remaining part of it has been bent round to almost meet one incomplete shoulder. The ring has angular shoulders and a raised central circular panel. The shoulders have two parallel longitudonal grooves running down them. The surviving part of the hoop is D-shaped in section. This ring measures 15.63mm, across its shoulders and is 8.67mm in width across the bezel.

The bezel is flat and an elongated oval shape, 5.39mm in width, reminescent of those which have inscriptions on them, although corrosion prevents any possible inscription being seen in this case.

An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date (AD 100 - AD 410). Length 15.4mm, width 10.8mm. Weight 2.50g. The bezel is oval in plan and measures 12.8mm x 10.8mm. At each end of the bezel is a stub, all that remains of the hoop. Each stub tapers in width from the bezel towards an old abraded break. On top of the bezel just over half is covered in bright blue translucent glass which has an undulating surface. CURATOR'S REPORT A Roman silver finger ring of 3rd century AD date. Description of Find Has a circular-section hoop and expanding profile. Two lines of raised mouldings on the lower outer surface, and further decorative mouldings on the shoulder, with incised decorative hatching. The ring has an oval setting, with traces of a white fixing paste and a reddish stone, which is now missing. The ring is rather battered and bent. Measurement Measures 22.7mm wide (not original dimension as distorted), 14mm deep, 12.8mm high at bezel. Weight is 6.69g. Treasure number 2007 T22.
