Roman copper alloy probable vessel mount in the form of a bird. It measures 22.1x4.8xmax.5mm (not including attachment projection) and weighs 1.77g. The bird is D-shaped in section, and flat and even on the underside, except for the pointed beak that extends downwards (c.2mm long) and the projection at the centre, which is c.1mm diameter in section and 2.3mm long, and extends from a rectangular area 4.8x2.8x2.3mm. A worn and incomplete Roman cast disc brooch of 2nd-century date. This flat brooch has an annular body with circular open centre (Dia.: 6.2mm). At the compass points are four protrusions which have suffered differing levels of abrasion. On the lower surface on the two opposing and more complete protrusions are, respectively, the remnant of the catchplate and the perforated, semi-circular pin lug. A 2nd century cast copper alloy disc brooch. The brooch is flat and circular. The surface has largely been lost due to wear and corrosion. The front of the brooch has been decorated with a ring and dot in the centre with lines radiating out from the centre. These fields then appear to have been inlaid with enamel, must of the enamel has now been lost. On the reverse of the brooch are the remains of two widely spaced lugs, they survive as stumps of corroded metal on either edge of the disc. The brooch is a dark brownish-green colour.
