An incomplete cast copper alloy wrist clasp of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 450-570.Probably Hines Form B20. The clasp is formed from slightly convex roughly rectangular plate of copper alloy. One side has four openwork lobes. There is a central double spine, which has been pierced by two rivet holes. This is where the clasp would have been sown to the sleeve. Extending out from this side are four pointed lobes. Form B20 is a “populus and very diverse group” (Hines 1993, p.64). A complete copper alloy knob, probably from a small post-medieval furniture element such as a desk drawer or a miniature cupboard. The knob is formed from a disc decorated with a circumferential groove, above which is a waist and then a globular element, with a conical terminal at the top. An iron bar sticks out from the disc, which was probably a nail or screw allowing attachment to the wood of the furniture. Probably 18th or 19th century.

A carved stone object of unknown date and function. The object does however resemble a mace head. It has a pierced square sectioned tang, with a rounded head. The head has been cut and looks like a mace head. There is an incised collar around the top.

A cast copper alloy harness pendant in the shape of a shield. The small loop survives intact. A design is cast into the face, in the form of what may be a lion lying down (couchant). Its legs appear to have either very long claws or else blend with palm-like fronds. Above the body are two leafy branches. The surface is apparently in good condition. A cast copper alloy harness pendant and hanger. The pendant is shield-shaped with an integrally-cast heraldic coat of arms. The hanger is a tall narrow rectangle, stained with iron corrosion, perhaps from the pin. The hinge is small and rounded. The shield has no traces of colour, but the design is clear. It is quartered, with a bend (diagonal line from top left to bottom right). The top right and bottom left quarters are vairy (a heraldic pattern), while the top left and bottom right were block coloured enamel, now lost. A cast copper alloy harness pendant and hanger. Both parts of this artefact are cast in the shape of a lozenge, with what may be a trilobate scallop shell or set of leaves protruding from each side. Each lozenge has a narrow outer border, inside which are dots. In the middle of each lozenge is a quatrefoil in low relief. The hinge is close-fitting and articulated, with a surviving copper alloy pin. The hanger is pierced by two holes for rivets, of which the lower survives as a fairly long spike. This artefact probably dates to the 13th or 14th century.

The head on the hanger faces right; that on the pendant faces left. Both eagles are the right way up. The two pieces are joined by a hinge which springs from the tail of the hanger and the head of the pendant. The hanger has two surviving dome-headed rivets in holes at the bases of the wings. A cast copper alloy stud, of late Iron Age to Roman date. The stud has a circular, flat head – with a long circular shaft extending from the centre of the reverse. The shaft has a blunted end. The head of stud has been chip carved and then enamelled. The design features two three circles of decreasing size. The outer circle is enamelled yellow, the next is red, no enamel remains in the smallest circle. The metal surface is a mid greyish-green colour.

Ten small droplets/lumps of copper alloy metal working debris, or possibly molten metal from a cremation. All have been severly fire damaged and so the objects which they originally comprised cannot be identified. All ten were found together suggesting that they could possibly mark the site of a cremation burial, though this cannot be definately confirmed as no pottery was found associated with them. The fragments range is length from 9.5mm to 21.6mm. All ten are highly pitted and erroded. The metal of each fragment is a mid greenish-brown.

A cast copper alloy Roman lock-bolt fitting. The surviving piece has a rectangular box section, with an open back. It has an openwork decoration on the front surface. The design comprises four triangles. One end has broken off and the break is very worn and corroded. The opposite terminal survives, it has been cast integrally to the box section and it formed from a flat plate of metal. This plate tapers slightly to the end. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour and it is slightly pitted. Similar lock-bolts can be seen in Crummy, p124, 4136.

A lead gaming piece/dice. This artefact is a cuboid, so therefore as a die it is not accurate (the side have different widths and lengths). The faces of the cube are decorated but the dots are not clearly visible. The artefact is complete though very worn. The lead has gone a powdery dark greyish-brown. It could be Roman or medieval in date but could date up to the Victorian period.
