Mesolithic flint flake retouched in (probably) Neolithic times, measuring 64.8x33.7x8.7mm and weighing 19.33g. The upper right dorsal edge and left ventral edge has semi-abrupt flaking. The lower right dorsal edge has perhaps been used for Mesolithic microliths. The dorsal face has a negative bulb scar at its proximal end. The flint has 100% heavy patination.

A cast copper alloy post medieval animal bell. The bell is grey in colour and probably has a high tin content. The bell is divided hemispherically into a series of radiating tongue-like shapes with central divisions. There is a cast horseshoe at the bottom. The loop is rectangular.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Dragonesque brooch. This type of brooch is essentially Celtic in design but is Roman made and continued to be made until the middle of teh 2nd century AD. They are an entirely British type of brooch (Hattatt; 1982; 152). The brooch has a raised surface and a flat back. Two of the heads remain, there would have been three originally. Both the heads are broken, the hole (which represents the eye) is incomplete on both. The semi-circle central part of the brooch represents the body of the dragon and has a circular perforation.

Copper alloy knob handle probably from the Post-medieval or modern periods. The weight is spherical with 2 small protrusions, one at each end. The top protrusion is rectangular in section. The lower one is circular. Both appear broken- it is not known what they were attached to. The top half of the main body of the weight is separated from the lower half by medial raised line. A very similar example has been found in Middlesborough (Curmmy; 1988; 42), which has been dated to the late Post-medieval or modern periods.

One of a pair of post medieval strap fittings which comprise a hook and a loop. This fitting is undecorated and of oval form with three projecting lobes each of which is pierced by a rivet hole. The rectangular loop is broken. The fitting has a white metal surface coating.

A circular mount, probably for attachment to the inside of a medieval wooden drinking bowl known as a mazer. The mount comprises a thin sheet disc with a stout central rivet on the back, inserted through a hole in the mount and flat at both ends. The mount appears to have die-punched decoration which comprises a central four-leaf motif within a cross-hatched field and a pelleted frame. Outside this is a raised thin and thick circular frame then another frame of raised pellets.
