Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: North Lincolnshire

Lead possible shot. A cast object comprising a strip or sprue of width 5mm with a series of seven peloidal balls, each of diameter 4mm and each at the end of a conical ingate. The strip is broken at one end and melted at the other. Patinated. This might be an expedient to cast birdshot or a blunderbuss or shotgun charge of pellets; a mechanical function seems unlikely given the soft nature of the material. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800
