Three links of a chain, each link [of length 18.2mm and width 11mm] comprising a hollow rectangular plate with paired flaps bent inwards on the underside to clasp one side of a sub-rectangular wire loop, the other side of the wire being clasped by the equivalent flaps on the next link. An incomplete Post Medieval to Modern cast copper alloy probable watch winder or handle dating to c. AD 1800-1900.  The object has an annular round section handle with a cylindrical lug which widens out to a double collar, and terminates in a single small loop. The whole object is decorated with a raised foliate design. It has a very dark patina, with some small areas of red. Dimensions: Diameter of handle section 17.1mm; length of whole object 33.1mm; length of lug and collars 12.8mm; diameter of loop 3.9mm; weight 3.49g. See ESS-8DDFC4 on the PAS

A fragment of a copper alloy watch winder of post medival date, (1850-1900). Description: A cinquefoil plate with the remains of an ovoid aperture above and collared knop below. Both sides have the same decoration, which consists of a central lozenge, with an ornament above, surrounded by a scrolled border. It has a flat-faced, oval-shaped bow or handle with the fragment of a circular attachment hoop at the top and an opposed collar above a winding key stem. A raised design appears on both sides of the bow, and includes three or four raised pellets which may be heads or the centres of flowers.
