A complete, albeit warped, Middle Bronze Age cast copper alloy spiral-twisted torc dating to the ornament horizon (1400-1250 cal BC). The torc is made of a copper alloy bar that has been bent into a U-shape in profile, the terminals then bent outwards at c.45 and 40 degrees. When in use it would have originally been bent into a more sub-circular shape. The bar is made up of a four flange twisted bar placed between two plain pointed terminals. Iron Age copper alloy beaded Torc fragment? 20mm in length, 12mm wide and 7mm thick with a weight of 3.5g. The object is rectangular in form with a V shaped cross section. The upper surface is formed of two sub spherical projections which are separated by a rectangular shaped recess. The objects underside has a V shaped recess. The fragment is very small and badly damaged but its possibly part of a two part beaded Torc, similar examples include LANCUM-C65AB5 NCL-79F3C6 and NLM-145AA3 It was found in the same location as other prehistoric metal fragments (see LEIC-542023 …

A short length of twisted gold torc with three arms. From a gold flange twisted torc. Metal composition: Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the fragment indicated a surface composition of approximately 88-89% gold, 11 % silver, and at least 0.5% copper. Description: The 'East Cambridgeshire' torc is a four-flange twisted bar torc of Middle Bronze Age date, known to belong to the Penard phase of c.1300-1150 BC (Taylor 1980, 62; Needham 2001; Roberts 2007). It is made of three separate components: two very similar, undecorated, bent-back, 'trumpet'-shaped, terminals affixed at either end of an exceptionally long (126.5cms, excluding the terminals) spiral twisted bar with very regular cruciform (i.e. '+' shaped) cross-section.
