On the obverse there is an African's head facing left and wearing a crown with Prince of Wales plumes. On the reverse is a drop shaped pineapple. A copper alloy token. It appears to have been issued by a shop in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Victoria's appointment as the Empress of India. On one face is a bust of the Queen, left, and the legend VICTORIA EMPRESS JUBILEE YEAR 1887. The other side has the name of the shop, possibly endin 'PSON' and RAWENSTALL in block capitals around the circumference.
