Cast copper-alloy probable token. One side is decorated with an eight spoked wheel design whilst the other side is difficult to decipher due to overall wear & corrosion The item, especially the wheel design, bears some resemblance to the ubiquitious lead tokens but these are usually one-sided and are of an alloy that is predominantly lead. no good parallels were found for this item and it has been dated broadly to the later Medieval to early post Medieval based on stylistic grounds. The item has a diameter of 21.12mm, is 2.33mm thick and weighs 4.71g.

Cast flat circular lead token with a series of inter-crossing straight lines incised onto one face. Due to a lack of archaeologically stratified and dated examples these tokens, which vary enormously, are loosely dated 1400-1850. Their precise function is unknown and it is likely the uses were many and varied ranging from pseudo-money and tokens to weights and gaming counters.

Very worn and incomplete cast and struck copper alloy probable 17th Century traders token. Although there is clearly lettering around the outside edge of one face it is only possible to clearly see [...]GER[...] which could plausibly be part of MONGER as these tokens often concern professions but it could also be part of a name or place. Such tokens were in common usage in the seventeenth century during the period 1648-1672 when there was a shortage of national coinage of low denomination. They were produced to meet local needs and are rarely found far from their point of origin.

Medieval to Post Medieval (c.1400-1700) cast lead token. The token has the initials IN on one side and a series of apparently randomly arranged lines on the reverse. The exact function of such tokens is uncertain, as is their dating - the recovery of examples with more secure archaeological dating in the future may perhaps shed light on this matter. It seems likely that they were used as pseudo-money, as tickets or perhaps even as gaming pieces.

A cast late Medieval to Post Medieval lead alloy biface token. Obverse has a six petalled flower (Powell type 1) with a central raised pellet, and further single pellets between each petal. The reverse is difficult to fully interpret with a clear letter S followed by what could be a lower case T (powell type 2) or a cross pommee (powell type 14). Between the two there is a vertical line leading from the edge which could represent a contraction mark. The exact function of such tokens is uncertain with theories that range from small change, checks and tallies in lieu of money, such as …
