A copper-alloy mid 17th century token of Northampton. The token reads Bird Street In on the obverse (and presumably originally had a number preceeding this legend) and Northampton on the reverse. The obverse field depicts a pair of scales and the reverse bears the mark .S. I? D. The token measures 15.5 mm in diameter and is probably a farthing piece.
