A token from a Shi'a shrine or perhaps a prayer stone. These are traditionally made from clay from holy sites which is then polished to given it the smooth surface. It has Arabic inscriptions, on the face ya (oh) Husayn in the centre. This refers to the Shi'a martyr Husayn who died at the battle of Kerbela in 680 and is revered by Shias everywhere. Prayer stones with such inscriptions are used by the Shi'a in their prayers. On the back are the words ya Allah- oh God.

An unusual cast copper-alloy disc with four equally spaced knops of iron protruding one of which may have been thinner than the others, suggesting perhaps a pendant loop. The disc has a cross engraved on one side with palm frond ends and on the other what appears to be a palm leaf. Similar to the Byzantine-inspired Encolpia or reliquary crosses found in Viking jewellery
