A large base and body sherd from a post-medieval ceramic mug. The broken sherd is semi-circular at the base indicating that the base was once circular and would have had a diameter of 71 mm. The remains of the mug measure 39 mm high. The bottom of the mug is unglazed but the interior and upper part of the body have a mottled brown lead glaze and the mug may have be of Staffordshire 'mottled ware'. It is likely to date to the early part of the 18th century, from circa 1700-1720 AD.
