Medieval-Post Medieval cast lead alloy probable mount, c.AD 1300-1600. This is an unusual hooked object made of lead alloy, which is not a material typically used for hooked mounts, although lead alloy hooked fasteners and tags have been found from the mid to late Medieval period. This object is made from a single flattened piece of alloy that narrows and thickens into a pointed, circular-sectioned hook at the end. The upper section of the object is damaged and appears to have a trefoil shape, although one lobe has been torn off in the past. There does not appear to be any surface dec…

A probable lead alloy mount, roughly circular in shape. On the front of the mount is a face, possibly that of a cherub or putee, the facial features are clearly defined. Around the face is a pattern of circles and lines which radiate from the face, and may represent hair. On the forehead is a sub circular object which is unclear. The back is plain and slightly hollow with a raised rim. It has a brown patina, lighter in the hollows. A very similar example, which also lacks fixings is HESH-E41ACC, which is dated to AD 1600-1800 Dimensions: 26mm wide and long, and weighs 13.92mm

An incomplete lead alloy mount or large cloth seal.  The mount is corroded and broken but may have been circular when complete in which case just over half of its circumference is missing to an old ragged break. In section it appears to be made of two very flat pieces of lead squashed together similar to a cloth seal, although this might simply be corrosion and the item breaking apart. While the reverse is flat and plain the front has a raised design this includes a border region which might have had letters running around the circumference. However all that remains is a tri…

A Post Medieval lead alloy possible mount, c.AD 1600-1800. This item is a tubular shape, with an uneven broken base and a double-bordered rim that is wider than the rest of the shaft. This may have been a handle or a decorative mount that is missing the plate, which would have closed off the end of the tube. The double-edged rim is decorated with a series of notched cut into these at regular intervals.
