An incomplete Roman plumbata. The spear is made of iron, comprising a shaft of circular section, tapering gently to a barbed head. The tip is missing. A lead weight has been cast onto the base of the shaft to act as a counter-balance. The weight is biconical and has an opening at the base in which part of shaft is visible. An incomplete cast copper alloy projectile point, probably a javelin dating to the Bronze Age. All the survives is the tip and a small portion of the body. The fragment is sub-triangular in plan, and circular with rectangular projections in section. The round portion creates a visible round ridge down the centre of the point; this section is filled with a secondary hard black material, which has medium sized inclusions within it, and some red iron corrosion at the edge of the break.
