A complete copper-alloy single sharp-hooked clasp of Read's Early Medieval (1500-1625) Class E Type 3 (2008; 7). The object has a trapezoidal loop (13.6mm wide) above circular main plate. the plate is domed being convex on its front and concave on its reverse. It has a raised collar running around its circumference. The collar has incised dashes across it giving it a beaded look. An incomplete lead hooked tag of probable Early Medieval date. It consists of a circular boss with two pierced attachment loops, the hook is missing, with iron corrosion present around a circular hole in the disc. Decoration comprises a prominent boss in the centre of three sets of double-line in counter-relief. A complete Post Medieval hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-150. It consists of a sub-oval plate carrying moulded floriate decoration.  At the apex is a rectangular suspension loop. Emerging from the lower edge is a reverted hook. The piece is plano-convex in section. It is consistent with Read's Class E, Type 3 group with a very similar example illustrated in 2008: pg 103, no 400.  Length 36.1mm; Width 20.4mm, Thickness 2.2mm, Weight 4.09g.
