A cast copper alloy object of Post Medieval or Modern date, about AD 1800-1950, probably a drain cover or plug hole guard. The object is in the form of an equal armed cross connected by a circle placed 5.5mm from the terminals of the cross. The four terminals are tapered at an angle of about 60ยบ from the reverse to the front, while all elements of the object, the terminals, cross pieces and the circle, are narrower on the upper surface than the lower. Somewhat crumpled and incomplete almost square lead sheet with central square arrangement of 9 x 8 (probably seventy-two) neatly apced round perforations (diameter 8mm). The central part is missing. When found the object was folded upon itself. c.500 x c.440mm. Thickness 2 - 3mm. Weight 685g. Probably a drain cover from below a down pipe or gutter and perhaps post-medieval.

A thin and circular lead alloy drain cover (possibly), with a single central perforation (with a diameter of 7.65mm). The drain cover is complete but is bent and distorted in places. It measures 112.3mm diameter, 2.36mm thickness and weighs 224.39gms. The object was identified by the finder and colleague.
