A copper-alloy Roman nummus of Theodosius I (AD 379-395), dating to the period c.AD 392-395 (Reece period 21). GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse type depicting the emperor standing right holding labarum and globe. Possibly mint of Heraclea. RIC IX, p. 199, cf. no. 27b. The larger nummi of the Theodosian period are rare as British site finds and this appears to be only the second example on the PAS, the first potentially not a genuine ancient loss (see HAMP-862717).
