An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle dating to c.1550 - c.1650, the pin and most of one of the loops is missing. In the centre of the outer edge of the remaining loop is a pointed triangular knop which projects into the centre of the buckle, creating a kidney shaped aperture. The frame is D-shaped in cross section and has a bevelled inner edge. The central bar is narrowed and has a sub-triangular cross section, there is a small knop at each end of the bar. A medieval copper-alloy buckle of the 'gaping-mouth beast' type, complete with its pin (c. 12th century). This buckle is moulded in three dimensions and takes the form of a hollow, open-mouthed animal head which is integrally cast with a frame and bar. The head is sub-circular when viewed from above and a three quarters circle in cross-section. An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval composite buckle, dating to AD 1350-1450. It consists of an incomplete oval buckle frame with integral forked spacer and both copper-alloy sheet plates in position. The frame is bent and it has bevelled outer edges; the bar is offset with a constriction and a pin slot. The sheet plates are curved at their attachment end with an aperture with an angled groove only on the front sheet.
