An incomplete copper alloy double-looped bucke dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1550-1650). The buckle has two oval shaped loops with triangular knops at opposite outside edges, where the pin would rest. Each triangular projection has an incised line just below the tip and another almost in line with the line of the outer edge of the frame. An incomplete cast copper alloy open plate, possibly a buckle or other fitting / fastening plate of probable late early-medieval date. The plate is flat in profile and the remaining section is sub-square in plan. The openwork elements consist of four triangles and one oblong while the broken section also appears to have had triangular apertures. The edge of the frame is slightly curved, and a projecting knop is extant on one corner. Cast copper alloy double-loop annular buckle with moulded floral decoration in the form of a five-petalled rose. Between each petal there are lateral grooves with define the boundary between adjoining petals, and one has been used as a pin rest. The pin is now missing. Two of the petals still retain some of their transverse linear grooves that extend towards the outer edge to make the buckle look more like a flower. Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle with integral forked spacer dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1400. The oval loop has a bevelled outer edge. It is spearated from the spacer by a moulded collar, behind which the forked spacer divides and terminates in two old breaks. The corroded remains of the iron pin sit between the two spacer arms. The frame exhibits traces of file marks. See: Egan & Pritchard, 2002, p. 78, no. 323 - 324.

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame (c. 1350-c. 1650). The pin is missing. Each loop is oval in plan and similar in size. The frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear. At the front, both outer edges have transverse grooves as decoration. The central narrowed bar is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. Incomplete and abraded front part of a medieval gilt copper alloy rectangular buckle plate with one of a pair of dome-headed copper alloy rivets near the inside edge surviving. Broken across the pin slot and frame recesses. Much of the surface has been lost with better preservation in some areas of engraving. Two engraved rocker-arm chevrons within a bordering line point towards the single rivet-hole in the rounded attachment end. Extant length 31mm. Width 14mm. 12th - 13th century.

A complete copper alloy Buckle of Post-Medieval date (AD 1660-1720). The object is an asymmetrical shoe or knee buckle with lobed knops on the external corners of the straight ends and a moulded notch. The object retains a two pronged or pitchfork chape on the integral axis bar. The metal is a mid green in colour with a slightly pitted patina. Medieval copper alloy buckle with a missing pin: trapezoidal frame with offset, narrowed bar, gently convex sides and a sheet roller around the recessed outside edge; trapezoidal sheet plate with a pin slot and one rivet nnear the narrower inside edge. The pin was of iron as evidenced by rust around the pin slot and in the centre of the outside edge. Overall length 34mm. Frame 14 x 16.7mm (width 13.5mm at the bar). Plate 22.8 x 11.3 - 9mm. Post-medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle frame, both loops oval, with a lobe at the ends of the bar and a moulded rosette in the centre of the edges. Both rosettes are so poorly cast as to be almost smooth and featureless (not the result of wear. The form is comparable with Whitehead 2003, no. 408. An example from Camber Castle was found in a context dated 1543-1637 (Biddle et al. 2001, 260, fig. 7.2 no. 27). Length 47.8mm. Width 28.4mm. c.1550 - c.1650.
