Copper alloy bridle fitting. Cast cheekpiece comprising a pair of rhomboid loops connected by an integrally cast D-section bar with a central boss standing proud from its convex side. A smaller boss or pellet is moulded on each of the outer angles of each of the loops. The metal has a reddish tint often associated with Anglo-Scandinavian material. One loop is partly lost. An incomplete cast lead medieval to post-medieval bridle mount dating to c.AD 1200-1800 Circular mount with a prominent raised border in a beaded or 'rope-like' style. In the centre is an applied or attached flower, now partially broken, with curvilinear petals and a central circular pistil surrounded by a curvilinear stamen. Copper alloy and iron probable bridle fitting. A massy tubular copper alloy bar of round section and diameter 11.8mm with a pair of symmetrically disposed expanded flanges which pass all around it, both set c.16mm from its ends. The ends of the copper alloy tube are bevelled or worn to rounded form. Ferrous corrosion and the mass of the object both suggest there is an internal iron rod or stiffener of diameter 8.5mm, which has yet to cause any damage to its external sheathing through its expansion as it rusts.
