AD1600-1700) gold posy finger ring.  The hoop is D-shaped in cross section with a plain exterior and inscribed interior.  The inscription, engraved in lower case, reads 'Live in love and love in god'.  Following the inscription is a five pointed star.  There is no maker’s mark.  There are some nicks on the edges of the hoop. The intaglio is made of an opaque white material which has a very crazed surface and is a portrait of a bearded male bust facing right with a collar, apparently with collar points below the chin.
