Period: No earlier than the 19th century Description: A gold finger-ring from East of Colchester, Essex. The finger-ring has a floral and foliate decoration on the exterior of the hoop. The interior of the hoop is plain. There is a colourless, facetted circular stone in the central setting. Dimensions: Length: 21.2 mm, Width: 17.3 mm, Weight: 4 g Conclusion: There is insufficient evidence to confirm that this finger-ring is over 300 years old and therefore it does not meet the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

Modern gold object, probably a jewellery fitting. The object is circular in plan and slightly domed. The upper surface is decorated with six dividing segments, alternating plan and with incised lines radiating from the centre. There is also three small pieces on the upper surface which appear to 'claw' the external edge of the body but do not extend to the reverse. Modern cast gold finger ring. The band is D-shaped in cross section and has external decoration only. The external decoration consists of a thin border either side of a raised central band formed of alternating raised sqaures, aligned in three rows, covering the whole diameter. The measures 18.5mm in diameter, 1.18mm thick and weighs 1.05g. There are no parallels in the British Museum collection, and the construction of the ring does not appear to be over 300 years old. As such, the ring does not need to be reported under the stipulations of the Treasure Act (1996).

Modern (19th century) undecorated gold finger ring; the band is circular with a 'D' shaped cross section. It is 20.17mm in diameter, 4.43mm wide, 1.93mm thick and weighs 6.04 grams. 18th to 19th Century Mourning Jewellery: clasp from a bracelet or necklace. It is an elongated octagon in plan, with cut glass above a gold-wire monogram, MW, surrounded by a border of scrolled gold-wire. One terminal has three circular fittings to attach the string, while the other end has a narrow, rectangular slot with a small notch at the centre; for where the folded metal plate would have been inserted to secure the fastening. TREASURE CASE 2008 T596 Gold bell-shaped pendant with hollow tube for attachement. The tube is 11.46mm long, 2.37mmin diameter, with cast beading along its apex and terminals - the diameter increases to 3.33 at the terminals. The pendant is sub-triangular in plan with a circular cross section, measuring 9.2mm long, 5.14mm in diameter at the apex and 10.3mm by 10.75mm at the base. Modern gold finger ring. British Museum Report: Gold finger ring made of three strands of twisted metal, which are flattened at the bezel to create a thin sheet. The hoop is slightly out of shape; the bezel has twisted and has cracks within it. Weight 3.92 grams; 25.2 mm outer diameter; 3.1 mm thick.
