A fragment of a flange- or bar-twisted gold torc, 39.7mm in length, dating to the Middle Bronze Age (probably Penard phase) c. 1300 - 1100 BC. The torc has a x-shaped cross-section with four flanges twisted into a spiral with a circular cross-section of 6.6mm diameter. Both ends of the fragment are abraded and one appears to have been crushed. It is unclear whether the fragment has broken off from or been cut from the original torc.

A gold penannular ring of late Bronze Age date. The ring is 17.5mm in diameter and has a circular cross section of 6mm diameter, with a gap of 2mm between the flat ends. The ring appears to be solid gold rather than plated as there are no evident cracks or fracturing in the surface which would be expected from corrosion of a copper alloy core. No decorative banding is evident.

A folded fragment of a gold band or ribbon with repousse linear ribs of probable Bronze age date c. 2100 BC - 1150 BC. Description: the rectangular fragment has been folded twice into three layers. Unfolded it would have been approximately 20mm x 16mm. The visible long broken edge is split in three places, the edges folded inward with fresh breaks. The short side edges appear less ragged and possibly represent the original width of the ribbon. The ribbon is decorated with 19 or 20 repousse plain linear ribs, running vertically from the long edge…

A fragment of Middle Bronze Age (probably Penard phase, c. 1300 - 1100 BC) flange- or bar-twisted gold torc. The fragment is straight with breaks at either end. The torc has a x-shaped cross-section with four flanges, although they twist in such a way as to give a circular cross-section around the flanges. The breaks are quite sharp, suggesting they could be quite recent. The bend is not quite at the centre of the object.

A complete gold bi-partite penannular ring dating to the Middle to Late Bronze Age c. 1300-800 BC.  The ring is comprised of two penannular rings of gold stacked one on top of the other and soldered together. Each ring is sub-circular (oval) in cross-section and sub-circular (oval) when viewed in plan. The terminals are flat one with a crack and another with a lenticular hole with possible void beneath. The external surfaces is scuffed with light scratches.  Measurements: The ring is 13.85 mm long, 12.69 mm wide at the gap and 6.46 mm …

Both ends appear complete. One terminal is rounded and the other is straight. At each terminal is a small, circular hole. The strip has been perforated from the decorated side. The reverse is undecorated. The strip is slightly crumpled and was found folded but was straightened by the finder. An apparently complete, though slightly squashed, Late Bronze Age (1000-800 BC) gold penannular ring (or 'lock-ring'). It is hollow and triangular in cross-section, formed of two flat (angled) outer faces and an internal slightly concave face. The damage to one of the outer faces reveals a hollow interior and the faces formed of conjoined, narrow, circular-sectioned gold wires. There are sixteen of these wires on each outer face with an additional spinal wire at the outermost join and a wire forming the outer edges of the internal face along the opposite (inner) join. The inter…

A fragment of a strip of ribbon gold, dating to the Bronze Age c. 2200 - 800 BC. One side is covered with parallel grooves running along its length, the other is undecorated. The original width of the strip would have been 8.5mm and it is 0.5mm thick. The fragment has been folded diagonally across its width and is now triangular in shape; it is unclear whether this is intentional or simply the result of post-depositional damage. One end has been neatly cut across the width, the other is less regularly cut or torn. The cut suggests a process of re-use or recycling of the original ribbo…

A gold, or gold-plated copper alloy penannular ring of late Bronze Age date. The ring has a near-circular cross section, 7.5mm thick and is 20.5mm in diameter with a 2.4mm gap between the ends. The surface is plated as is demonstrated in several places by damage (notably on one of the ends) which reveals a copper alloy core within. There is no sign of banding in differential shades of gold, this being a common form of decoration on similar rings. Diameter 20.5mm; thickness 7.5mm; weight 13.17g.

Gold plating covers the whole of the core and is seamless over the body of the ring. The circumferential pattern of stripes is spiral and it is wound in a clockwise direction. It appears to be produced by inlaying a continuous strip of silvery gold around the ?copper alloy core to give the appearance of alternating stripes of gold and silver. The edge opposite the terminal has a cross-section measuring 7.5 x 7.9mm. A probably incomplete and bent pointed-oval shaped piece of sheet gold 0.4mm thick, of possible Bronze Age date (2,500-800 BC). The long edges are both jagged and circa one third is folded transversely back on/ under itself. The terminal at the shorter end appears complete. It narrows to a point which is again folded back on itself, perhaps incidentally or perhaps intentionally - it could be interpreted as a hook. The terminal at the opposite end also narrows to a point and is intentionally cut in a straight diagonal on one edge. This terminal is also folded back on itself. As the obj…

An unidentified sheet-gold bag-shaped object, with one closed, rounded end and a narrower open end with a piercing to one face only (apparently). The object is perhaps of Bronze Age date (2,500-800 BC) and related to gold ornaments/ strips known from the Bronze Age of Southern England. Both faces of the object retain traces of decoration in the form of numerous longitudinally-arranged raised ridges of rectangular section, parallel to each other. It isn't possible to determine what the reverse of the sheet-gold looks like. To one edge of the object the sheet is unbroken/ undamaged …

This consists of a rectangular strip of metal which has been rolled into a cylinder with wrapped overlapping terminals, the item has been subsequently squish resulting in its current flattened form.
