A chipped silver halfgroat of Elizabeth I, London mint. On the obverse is a left facing bust with two pellets behind the queen's head and the legend E D G ROSA SINE SPINA. On the reverse is a square shield with long cross fourchee (but without a date mark) and the legend CIVI[TAS] LONDON. The initial mark is a cross crosslet, indicating the coin was struck in the year 1560-61, and corresponds to North number 1987.

The obverse has a left facing bust with two pellets behind the head, with legend: E D G ROSA [S]INE SPINA. The reverse has a square shield on long cross fourchee. The legend reads: CIVITAS LONDON, and includes a bell as initial mark.
