A medieval silver cut farthing of William I of Scotland (1165-1214) or posthumous, Short Cross and Stars phase B dating to c.AD1205-30 (Spink S5029), moneyer: Hue Walter, mint: uncertain. Ref: Spink 2020: p.14. The inscriptions are inevitably very partial but the obverse appear to read [  ]E W[  ], probably [  ]E WA[  ] which suggests it may be paralleled by a coin in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (Bateman and Mayhew 1987 no.74) which reads hVE WALPO on both sides.   Length: 14.5 mm; Width: 9 mm; Weight: 0.47g

An incomplete Early Medieval Anglo Saxon Small Long brooch, dating to c. AD 450 - 550. The bow and catchplate remain. The wings, upper bow and pin are missing. The remainder of the bow is sub-rectangular in plan. The upper half of the remaining bow is rectangular in plan and C-shaped in section, it is decorated with a few pairs of moulded horizontal lines. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged brooch dating to c. AD 43-120.  The brooch has tubular wings enclosing an axis bar, with a slot in the centre for the pin. Only remnants of the pin has survived inside the slot. The bow springs out from the wings, it is D-shaped in cross-section, tapering to a broken point. An incomplete lead plaque of probable Georgian/Victorian date c. AD 1700-1900. The piece is the form of arcading with a small cherub figure lounging over the top and holding onto a textile piece. The archading is decorated with foliate motif and is triple banded around the curved and longitudinal sides. There are two circule indenatations on the reverse, probably to fix it to another piece. Like NLM-AF619C this falls short of the proto-heraldic form of those buckle plates ascribed to the early 13th century, though this is less at variance with their character than that object. The mane and the sides of the mask are rendered with broad cuts and the hind limbs and tails are much more angular than is usual with the proto-heraldic examples of this form.
