An early post-medieval French Shield jetton. Description: The obverse of the jetton shows a shield of France with three fleurs de lis, surmounted by a crown. There is an illegible legend around the margin. The reverse shows an imperial orb surmounted by a cross within an ornamental tressure that has three main arches. Again, there is an illegible legend around the margin. The jetton is very corroded and there is some damage around a ragged hole that may have, at some point, have been a piercing. The jetton is cracked, and some pieces are missing.

Post Medieval copper alloy rose orb jetton. It was struck for an unknown Nuremburg master. It dates from c1550 to c1650 AD. The diameter is 25mm and the weight 1.71g. There is a small sub square perforation on the edge of the jetton. Coins & jettons were often carried threaded on cord. This particular jetton has a high wear gloss on it, giving a false impression of silvering.

A Post Medieval Nuremburg jetton dating to AD 1500-1650. The jetton is of 'Rechenmeister' type. The obverse has a picture of a man with a pointed beard and moustache wearing a jacket with voluminous sleeves (the 'Rechenmeister' or accounting master). He is working at a board which is marked with a grid on one side and which has a number of spots on the other side, representing tokens on a counting board.
