A copper alloy pin of the ring-headed 'swan neck' type, dating to the Early Iron Age, c. 600 - 400 BC.  The top of the pin resembles an S in shape, with an oversized top loop returning to touch the near side of the bottom loop. A complete copper-alloy 'vine eye' pin of Post-Medieval date, c.1800 -1900. The pin has an open circular head from which an elongated triangular shaft projects. The inner edges of the head are bevelled and the object is undecorated. These pins were used to attach the wires or strings to train plants to walls. An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval  pin sheath (c. 1500 - 1800 AD).  The cylindrical sheath tapers towards a turned knob at the base. It is formed from a rolled copper-alloy sheet. The sheath is slightly corroded, the corrosion of the copper-alloy causing green patches on an otherwise smooth brown patina.
