An early medieval silver penny of Archbishop Ceolnoth of Canterbury, (833-70), 'Inscribed Cross' type (aka 'Open Cross') dating to c.AD854-64, moneyer Hebeca, mint: Canterbury (North 245; Naismith C154).
The coin is complete but cracked, the crack running along the line of the shoulders of the bust and the inner circle.
Obverse: Tonsured bust facing. Reverse: Inscribed cross, letter in each angle.

A complete cast copper-alloy late early medieval open-work stirrup-strap mount, dating to c. AD 1000 - 1100. Williams class A type 2. The mount is lozenge-shaped with a circular terminal at its point, this has a central circular perforation 2 mm in diameter. An incomplete copper alloy early medieval disc-headed pin, dating to c. AD 700 - 900. The head and part of the shaft survive, in reasonable condition, but have been at some point coated in a thick black substance, possibly enamel paint. The copper alloy surface shows in a few places. The head is flat and circular with decoration on one face. The circumference is corroded and chipped, especially around the upper edge. An early medieval copper alloy zoomorphic strap end (c. AD 800 - 900). Zoomorphic terminal, split end housing two rivet holes, with an old break across one corner, tapering, convex sided plate. Both surfaces are abraded and somewhat corroded, elliptical ears can be discerned behind the head, and possible cross-hatch patterning on the surface of the plate. Length to width ratio is 3.75, consistent with Thomas class A, dated to the 9th century.
Length 45 mm, width 12 mm tapering to 5 mm and weight 4.66 g.

The strap end is elongated sub-triangular in plan and sub-rectangular in section. The attachment end is broken with a smooth, old break including the lower curved edges of two circular rivet holes. A lead early medieval spindle whorl (c. 500 - 1100). The spindle whorl is circular in shape and plano-convex in cross section. One face is decorated with a circular ridge running parallel to the central perforation, with evenly spaced ridges radiating out from the perforation. The shape of the spindle whorl is similar to Walton Rodgers form A1 suggesting it is from the early medieval period, however the inclusion of decoration on one face may indicate a slightly later date within the period. Diameter 27.1mm, internal diameter 8.7mm, thickness 6.7mm and weight 20.43g.

A gold early medieval finger ring of the Viking period (c. 1000-1100). The ring is made of a curved rod with a rectangular cross-section and bevelled edges. The rod is wider (c. 4 mm) at the centre and tapers to the back where the ends are drawn into wires (2 mm in diameter) which overlap and are wound once round each other. Overall, the ring has an external diameter of 24 mm and an internal diameter of 17 mm. It weighs 8.56 g.

A fragment of cast copper alloy open work object, probably part of an early medieval hasp (late Saxon c. 1000 - 1100). The object is trapezoidal in shape, and has ten piercings or holes arranged in rows of three, two, three and two. There are raised nodes along the edges; due to wear it is not possible to be sure if these are breaks. Cf. Margeson in Rogerson (1995), fig.41, no.75 (strap-end) and fig.46, no.99 (hasp). An incomplete early medieval, copper alloy probable harness pendant c. 1050 - 1100. The object forms nearly half of a cast sub-circular openwork mount with a short attachment bar at the top, flanked by two vertical projections. The bar and one of the projections is missing. The pendant is decorated with interlaced bars forming a series of oval and rounded triangular apertures of which two survive intact. An incomplete, copper alloy, early-medieval polyheral-headed pin of Anglo-Saxon association, dating to the 8th-9th century. The polyhedral head of the pin has approximately eighteen small facets. Each facet apart from the top facet is decorated with a ring and dot motif. The head measures 8.6mm long and 8.8mm in width. Extending below the head, and small collar, the pin shaft terminates in a break. The pin's overall length is 25.9mm.

A complete, copper alloy, early-medieval polyhedral-headed pin of Anglo-Saxon association, dating to the 8th - 9th centuries. The polyhedral head is in the form of a cuboid with the corners cut off. Twelve of the thirteen facets on the head are decorated with ring and dot motifs, the top facet is plain. Below this head is a simple collar, with the shaft extending, slightly bent, down to a point. The head measures 8.1mm long and 6.0mm wide, with the overall length of the pin 57.3mm.

A cast copper alloy zoomorphic strap end of early medieval date (AD 750 -1100). The object seems to have been cast in one piece, with a spilt end and a tapering shaft, heavily moulded in a zoomorphic design. The width to length ration is 1:4.7, placing it in Class B of the Thomas classification. The object is difficult to fit into type, but most closely resembles Type 4, illustrated in Fig 2.16-17 of the FRG datasheet 32.
The object has an overall length of 46.4 mm, a maximum width of 9.9 mm, tapering to a blunt point. Overall thickness is 6.3 mm, the object weighs 10.2 g

An incomplete middle early-medieval to medieval copper alloy rotary key (AD 800-1200). The key has a solid stem, hollow at the end. Below projects a bit which divides into three wards that bend at a right angle to the rest of the bit. Above the stem is the rectangular in cross-section stump of another projection (possibly a second bit).
