An incomplete copper-alloy artefact. This is probably a pendant of Roman date, c.2nd to 3rd century AD. See Nicolay 2007, pp.55-57 & 401, pl.90, nos.248.3 & 111.7, 'Round, oval and tear-shaped pendant type'. This artefact weighs 2.90g. The proximal end, assumed to have originally terminated with a complete suspension loop is missing due to an irregular break. An incomplete late Roman buckle, approximately half survives. Weight 4.04g, length 30.6mm, incomplete width 14.8mm, maximum thickness of frame 3.7mm, thickness over the hinge loop (diameter of hinge loop) 6.5mm. This buckle had an oval or D-shaped frame, forming a penannular loop, of oval cross-section. The break is worn and covered with the same mid-green patina that is present over the rest of the artefact. An incomplete scabbard sheath chape of Medieval date. This artefact should be compared to the one found at Wharram Percy (Goodall 1979) which may date to approximately the 12th Century AD. It is also similar to the chapes recorded in PAS database records: BUC-ADAD64, SF-4270F4, ESS-7E5D98 & SUSS-CE4E27. An incomplete copper-alloy Early-Medieval cruciform bow brooch, only the terminal of the foot survives and even this is incomplete having a break at either end. None of the foot's flat panel survives. A worn transverse break is present at what would originally have been the junction between the, now missing, flat panel and a raised moulding of transverse ribs that does survive. This moulding has a semi-circular cross-section, width of 14.9mm x thickness 6.1mm and measures 6.1mm on the artefact's length axis.
