A Medieval lead-alloy non-heraldic personal seal matrix, dating to AD 1200 - 1400. The matrix is circular in plan. The die face is decorated with a tree or ear of wheat, this is surrounded with the legend which reads + SIGIL TOME FIL ROGER (seal of Thomas, son of Roger).  The rear of the matrix is undecorated, it retains a circular lug at the top. The six-coil spring is mounted on a single loop behind the head of the bow, with an external chord running beneath the coiled springs.
