Small silver seal matrix with an oval face. It is engraved with a motif of crested and plumed bird, walking right and in side profile. it’s the bird’s beak is open, holding a leafed branch which extends over its head and back. The motif is set within a single cabled oval border. The face is slightly misshapen with some damage to the right side. A Late Bronze Age hoard was discovered by Craig Hearne and Kieran Slade on 13th January 2020 while metal-detecting on a field under pasture in Llangeitho Community, Ceredigion. Initially, 17 artefacts were reported as part of this find with a further 9 artefacts found scattered within ploughsoil in the immediate vicinity during January and February 2020, which were also reported and added to this hoard find. Fragment of a circular lead alloy (pewter) object, possibly a uniface token or large button of possible post-medieval date (c. 1650-1800AD). The object is decorated in relief in a wheel motif, with a pellet at the centre and what may have been 18 spokes when complete. There are then 3 concentric circles which, combined with the spokes, creates a number of sub-rectangular cells. In the centre of each is a pellet. Around the outer edge of the object is rouletted border. The reverse of the object is plan and undecorated.

Description & identification
Small silver annular stirrup brooch. Groups of transverse grooves inlaid with niello on both faces. The small stirrup has inturned ends and punched grooves along its edge, with two grooves forming an inverted V at the junction of pin and wrap-around head. The pin is complete and has a diamond cross-section, each facet being decorated with zig-zag grooves.
Dimensions: max. diameter 12.1mm; thickness 2,2mm; pin length 13.2mm; weight 1.55g.

A complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy sword belt hanger buckle, dating to c.1500 – 1630AD. The buckle is a double loop rectangle with an integral circular suspension loop projecting from one side, below the strap bar, with an internal diameter of 5.5mm. The sides of the frame are angled. The object is not decorated.

Fragment of a post-medieval lead button c. 1600-1700AD. The button is decorated with raised pellet at the centre, surrounded by three pairs of arches, all with a double plan border. The reverse is plain and undecorated. There is a clear castling line visible with the stub of a suspension loop which is now missing. The button has a white powdery patina.

A medieval silver short cross penny of Richard I (1189-1199) to John (1199-1216), Class i, moneyer Halli, minted in Rhuddlan in c.1190 - c. 1215 (North 972/1). cf. Brand 1965, no. 1050. North and Brand date the Rhuddlan coins to c.1180-c.1190 due to similarities between Rhuddlan Class i and Short Cross Class I, but Rhuddlan coins do not appear in hoards containing only Class I coins. They first appear in the Ashton hoard dating to the early 1190s, which suggests that the mint opened in c.1190 (Mass, 2001, 63).

The obverse of the object is flat but with a raised rim around the circumference with possible human figure visible holding a long stick, there is a pierced hole at approx 1 o'clock (from obverse to reverse) which may have been used to attach the seal with string.
