An incomplete die cast, copper-alloy buckle, clasp or waist-belt plate of probable late Post-medieval to early Modern date (c. AD 1850-1900). It is a thin (0.36mm) sheet metal object pressed with a repoussé design in relief which depicts a lion advancing right between two palm trees within a geometric border. The background is grained. A complete, cast, copper-alloy 'crotal' or livestock bell of probable Post-Medieval to Modern date (c. AD 1700 - 1900). The bell is spherical with a sub-circular, perforated attachment loop projecting approximately 15.94mm from the top. The perforation has a maximum diameter of 7.83mm. An incomplete cast copper-alloy disc brooch, probably dating from c. AD 1850.  The brooch is circular in form and is decorated with a central circular boss that is surrounded by alternating pellets and triangular cells. The reverse is undecorated and the remains of a hinge mechanism and catch can be seen. An incomplete lead plaque dating to the early Modern period.  The plaque depicts the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. The shield bearing the arms is draped over a rounded central circular boss and is encircled by a belt bearing the incuse motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The shield is supported by, on the left, a lion and on the right, a unicorn. A crown woudld have sat above the arms but is now missing. At the base is a scroll bearing the incuse motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. Modern replicas of the early medieval 'sword' type pennies of Eric Bloodaxe (c.939-54) dating to c.AD 952-4. These replicas are struck on a very round flan its weight is too high at 1.64g (the weight standard used for the original issues was 1.4g. The quality of the die cutting is lower than on the original coins. Possibly related to the Ashmore Replicas of the 1970s and 1980s. A modern copper alloy Cornish penny token dating to AD 1811. Obverse: a pumping engine and winding machine (equipment central to tin mining). Beneath the image is the date 1811. Reverse: three metal ingots above and below a central horizontal fish, probably intended to represent copper, tin and a pilchard. Cast solid lead head from a male figurine that was probably part of a toy with a hat with a broad rim. The hat is similar to that seen on toy figurines of boy scouts made by William Britain, as seen in records NLM-A1ADDA and NLM-011B3F, which are dated from c.1910-1939. Britains started producing similar figurines of farmers in the 19th century but these were hollow cast. Nickel or chrome-plated cast copper alloy fragment of a reception bell with a slightly everted border around the base which is 6 mm in height and 2 mm thick. The surface is encrusted with corrosion product, but there are still large areas of white base metal which has been applied using electoplating as it is very thin. An early 20th century cast lead alloy seal from a Johnny Walker whiskey bottle or case. The seal displays the arms and crest of Kilmarnock on both faces, consisting of a shield with squirrels as supports, and a crest of a hand of benediction above. The wire is 1.5mm in diameter and therefore a similar diameter to copper wire used in electrical cabling in the post-war period. The weight weighs 45.69g which equates to 1.61 ounces averdepois and so is not very specific or accurate which perhaps suggests that the weight might have been suspended from fishing nets, rather than a steelyard. A cast copper alloy pendant in the shape of an arrow, with two notches taken from either sides. A triangular depression sits at the top of the pendant, where a collar, triangular in cross-section and decorated with cross-hatch grooves. Cast lead fabric weight, used for holding down the hem or a curtain or possibly a skirt. Flat and circular, with two central circular holes and an incised line about 1 mm in from the edge which runs within the circumference as a border. It has been bent since its loss. Despite looking like a button, these weights were and are used to weigh down the hems of curtains, and perhaps also skirts. Examples can be seen on page 83 of Bailey's (2004) Buttons and Fasteners. They seem to come into use perhaps in the eighteenth century, and are still available to buy today.
