An undecorated body sherd from a vessel of probable Middle Bronze Age date. The fabric is a reduced dark grey with orange oxidised surfaces. It has moderate shell inclusions (up to 5mm). The fabric is similar to material excavated at Tinney's Lane, Sherborne, Dorset (Kerry Ann Tyler, pers. comm.). Dimensions:35.5mm by 28.5mm by 8.4mm Weight: 8g

An undecorated body sherd from a vessel of possible Early Bronze Age date. The vesicular (porous) fabric is an oxidised mid-orange with one grey reduced surface. The fabric contains sparse rounded grog inclusions (up to 2mm). Other inclusions appear to have been burnt out. They may have been organic and/or the vessel may have been over-fired. Two sherds of pottery of probable Early to Middle Bronze Age date. The body sherds have oxidised orange external surfaces, more reduced buff internal surfaces and reduced buff/grey cores. The fabric contains moderate shell fragments (up to 8mm). Both sherds have external impressed decoration consisting of a linear band which is parallel to a band of small circular impressions. A large carinated body sherd of probable Early to Middle Bronze Age date. The sherd measures 47.6mm in length by 29mm in width and has a body thickness of 10-15mm. It weighs 35.4g. The oxidised exterior surface ranges in colour from orange to buff, the interior surface is buff/brown and the core is a reduced mid to dark grey. The sherd most likely formed part of a larger vessel such as a jar or urn. Two ceramic vessel sherds of probable Bronze Age to Iron Age date (c. 1600 - 200 BC). Both sherds are body sherds and exhibit old, abraded breaks on all edges. The fabric is soft with a powdery texture and exhibits abundant poorly sorted shell temper with some poorly sorted angular flint and mica. Both shersd are brown in colour with a reduced dark brown inner surface. Collective weight: 37.16g.
