Very small sherd of coarse ware vessel, possibly dating from prehistoric times. The vessel was made from light orange/beige fabric with a number of larger inclusions. There are marks of brush strokes on both the in- and outside of the sherd. There are no remains of burnishing, slip or glaze and the sherd is very much unlike much of the Roman material from the area. Therefore it is likely that it dates from pre-Roman times.

Large rim sherd of a hand-made earthenware vessel dating from the Bronze Age, c. 2150-800BC. The vessel sherd is comparatively thick and heavy for its size which is typical for Bronze Age pottery. It was made from very gritty local clay with many medium-sized and larger inclusions of grit and quartzite. The fabric is rough and the breaks show inclusions of up to 5mm long. The vessel sherd does not resemble sherds that have come of Bronze Age urns and it is more likely that it was part of a domestic vessel, e.g. a large storage vessel for grain or similar.

A cast copper alloy loop probably from a bucket or cauldron of Bronze Age date. It looks too rounded to be a loop from a socketed axehead. Also axeheads with loops were cast in one piece whereas this looks as if it had been soldered on. The loop is D-shaped in section and 6.74mm thick. The object is 23.74mm long and 18.94mm wide and weights 19g. It would have held a handle for the sheet copper alloy vessel. cf Langmaid 1976, 'Bronze Age Metalwork in England and Wales', page 58, no. 24.

Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age ceramic beaker. Found in face of cliff c. 2m from the base, perhaps in slipped soil, Full profile extant, complete base and one third of the rim, about half of vessel surviving. Predominantly ancient breaks occur on the main piece. Two sherds join it at recent breaks. Five other sherds do not, and are bordered by both new and ancient breaks. These facts suggest the vessel was probably buried intact. The fabric is quite soft, and oxidised buff with red external margin in lower part and reduced core in thicker parts. Two body fragments of handmade ceramic vessels. The walls are 8.78mm and 7.44mm thick. The fabric has occasional small and large sized shell fragments within it. Both sherds have a mid grey core, and mottled mid to light brown surfaces. The sherds are slightly abraded. Together they weigh 12.8g. The sherds probably date to the late Bronze Age to early Iron Age period (c. -1150 to c. -300).

28 sherds of handmade Bronze Age to Early Iron Age pottery, weighing in total 338g. The sherds are mainly body sherds, but one large rim sherd does survive. It has an inverted rim. The pottery is undecorated. It has chalk tempering, which has largely leached out, therefore resulting in the production of lots of holes in the matrix of the clay. The pottery is a coarse ware, which has been lightly fired in a clamp fire, rather than a kiln.

A slightly worn body sherd of prehistoric date, probably from a Middle Bronze Age urn. The sherd is irregular, but roughly four sided. The clay has been tempered abundantly with quite fine flint. The external surface has become oxidised to a mid-light orange colour which contrasts with the black of the internal face which is also the colour of most of the profile. As the fragment is fairly undiagnostic the date and original vessel form remain tentative.

Pottery rim sherd with bevelled everted rim, decorated with fine comb-impressed dashed lines in bands of six, delineated by a plain band between. The core of the sherd has been oxidised to a light brown colour and the exterior and interior surfaces to a more orangey-brown colour. The exterior surface has been sooted and still has carbonised remains extant. The fabric looks, from microscopic investigation, to have mica, white feldspar, quartz sands and killas inclusions, which is typical of the local beaker wares made during the Early Bronze Age in Cornwall.
