A pair of body sherds probably from Late Bronze Age hand made vessels (cf. Barrett 1980). They are characteristically flint tempered (up to 6.8mm) and an oxidised orange colour externally. The interior is reduced and mid-grey, with darker areas of possible sooting internally. Both sherds are irregular quadrilaterals in form; one sherd is far larger and heavier (39.6 by 35.7mm; 16.74g) than the other (3.30g; a combined weight is given below).

Pottery body sherd of hard-baked clay, perhaps part of a mould, so that the ceramic has been altered during heating. There are various marks and impressions on the interior of the sherd, but may have been part of the moulded decoration, but the detail is unclear. The fabric is fine with few visible inclusions and is dark grey throughout, where the vessel might have been exposed to naked flames. Bronze Age, c.2100-1150 BC.

Pottery body sherd of admixture fabric, decorated with a rough chevron of imressed rectangles on the exterior of the sherd, suggesting that this could be Trevisker Ware, dating from the Middle Bronze Age. The pottery is orange on the exterior and light brown on the interior with some inclusions which look like pale felspars and mica-schists. Nowakowski (1991) illustrates a similar example from Trethellan, Newquay, on page 115, Fig.46, No.38, which is dated from the Middle Bronze Age, c.1500-1200 BC.

Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age ceramic beaker. Found in face of cliff c. 2m from the base, perhaps in slipped soil, Full profile extant, complete base and one third of the rim, about half of vessel surviving. Predominantly ancient breaks occur on the main piece. Two sherds join it at recent breaks. Five other sherd do not, and are bordered by both new and ancient breaks. These facts suggest the vessel was probably buried intact. The fabric is quite soft, and oxidised buff with red external margin in lower part and reduced core in thicker parts. It is slightly sandy with sparse and…

Large rim sherd of a hand-made earthenware vessel dating from the Bronze Age, c. 2150-800BC. The vessel sherd is comparatively thick and heavy for its size which is typical for Bronze Age pottery. It was made from very gritty local clay with many medium-sized and larger inclusions of grit and quartzite. The fabric is rough and the breaks show inclusions of up to 5mm long. The vessel sherd does not resemble sherds that have come of Bronze Age urns and it is more likely that it was part of a domestic vessel, e.g. a large storage vessel for grain or similar.
